VIDEO SURVEILLANCE SIGNS
Since January 29, 2020 the Guidelines 3/2019 on processing of personal data through video devices have been officially adopted.
You can find the full Guidelines on the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) website.
In this article, we will deal only with the impact of the new regulation on information signs for video surveillance.
HOW DOES THE NEW SIGN CHANGE?
The change in structure and content is significant.
Below a summary.
The Art. 7 “TRANSPARENCY AND INFORMATION OBLIGATIONS” contains the requirements of the new sign:
- The report must be provided with an image (as in the past) and must offer a significant overview of the personal data processing, as reported in the Art. 12 of the GDPR:

- Treatment purpose;
- Identity of the data controller;
- Rights of the data subject;
- DPO contacts (if any).
- The size and positioning must be suitable for the correct display by the person concerned.
Following the variations imposed by the new regulations, our Team in charge of the administration procedures for the customers corporates, in collaboration with our graphic designers, has developed the format of the new sign which will be available at our D-SHOP.
